Issues Opening PDF Documents on www.hatcocorp.com

We have been receiving reports from some visitors that they are having difficulty opening PDF documents.  We apologize for any inconvenience, and are investigating causes for this issue and will do our best to fix it.

We feel strongly that this is an Adobe Acrobat and Acrobat Reader issue, not an issue with our website.

However, we are concerned about our visitors experience and have two suggestions for how to manage this situation should it happen to you. If you are having difficulties try one of the following methods.

1. Configure Adobe to not open documents in your web browser

There is a setting in Adobe Acrobat which controls how PDF documents open on your machine.

In the pull down menus, access Edit > Preferences > Internet.  Acrobat will display a setting similar to the following:

Adobe Settings

Unchecking this selection will cause the PDF to open in Adobe Acrobat outside of the browser, which seems to open our links without an issue.

2. Save the document to your computer and then open it.

You can save any file directly to your computer.  In Internet Explorer you right mouse click any of our “Download” links, and you will get a pop up menu as shown below:

Save Target As

Clicking "Save Target As" will open a dialog on your computer where you can select a location to save the file.  You will then be able to open it from that location with a PDF viewer of your choice.

We apologize for this and are exploring better solutions.
